Johnson Retreat History & Accommodations

Johnson Retreat is our largest apartment rental on the property. It is named after Abraham Johnson. He was the founder of the Historic St. Elmo district in Chattanooga, TN, which was established in 1885. In 1890 Abraham built The Bear House. All 6 apartments are named after former owners of the beautiful property.

Johnson Retreat:

  • Entire upstairs, 2nd floor, of the Bear House (Wheland & Workman Wing combined) 2,200 sq. ft.
  • Total of 4 bedrooms: 2 king bedrooms, 2 queen bedrooms (all bedrooms have their own Smart HDTVs)
